Girona's stop on the UCI Gravel World Series. The 109 km is the qualifier race itself - and contrary to the "pros only" assumption, it's open to anyone 19+. Riders are classified into 5-year age groups, and the top 25% of each group earns a slot at the UCI Gravel World Championships. Elite licence-holders race in a separate category, so recreational riders compete against their age peers, not WorldTour names.
All of it sits inside the Sea Otter Europe festival: expo halls, brand demos, family rides, and a finish-line crowd that rivals the Tour stage starts. A long weekend in Girona as much as a race day.
