Ultra Race Dolina Bugu

Ultra Race Dolina Bugu closes the season of the Ultra Race Series on the Bug, a river the organisers call one of the wildest in Europe. Its base is Mielnik in Podlasie, a corner of eastern Poland where, in the organisers' words, time runs slower and fields, rivers and Orthodox church bells blend into one quiet landscape.

More than half of every route runs on unpaved roads, and the course is planned for flow along the river valley rather than for spectacle. The shortest option is pitched as a first taste of ultra riding, the longest as the full Podlasie challenge for riders who keep going long after common sense says stop.

The small Ultra Race Series crew has run gravel races in Roztocze, the Bug valley and Silesia for four years, riding each route themselves before race day. Finishing here also completes the Gold Finisher challenge for riders with three series races in the year, and the season's finisher gala takes place in Mielnik.
