About this event
Ultra Race Silesia trades forests and farmland for the industrial heart of Upper Silesia. Its gravel routes link small Silesian towns, old tenement streets, steelworks, mines and spoil heaps, a landscape where the region's past and present sit side by side.
The course has passed places such as the Nikiszowiec miners' quarter and old industrial ground that most people never see up close, and the organisers promise a new route with fresh corners of Silesia for the coming edition. Riders set off in small groups, and the longer route has a pit stop stocked with fruit, snacks and the series' trademark waffles.
It is part of the Ultra Race Series, the Polish team behind Ultra Race Roztocze and Ultra Race Dolina Bugu, whose motto is that the race is not won by the fastest rider but by the one who keeps believing they will reach the finish.
