About this event
Ultra X Scotland is a weekend of trail racing around Loch Ness, the largest body of fresh water in Britain by volume, stretching through the Great Glen in the Scottish Highlands. The courses link Inverness, Dores and Fort Augustus on forest trails with hard climbs and wide views over the loch.
The menu runs from a short Sunday dash to the Loch Ness Monster, the longest race of the weekend, and the two-day course can also be raced in a single push, with camping included between stages for multi-stage runners. Fully stocked aid stations sit roughly every 10 km, there are medics and osteopaths on hand, and past finishers say the crew made new and experienced runners feel equally at home.
It is one of three British races in the Ultra X series, alongside Wales and England, and runners who finish ultra distances at all three within a year earn the Great British Slam. Entry is free for runners under 23, subject to availability.
