About this event
Velopeak500 calls itself a legendary hardcore gravel race followed by a party, and it is run on a summer evening, with riders leaving in small groups every half minute as the light starts to fade.
Around four fifths of the course is gravel, sand and forest paths, with the rest on tarmac. The track is marked, though the organisers suggest carrying navigation as a backup, and drafting is allowed.
It comes from the KUDOS3000 alternative cycling calendar, the crew behind MEGRE Gravel, and the night carries on with DJs and an afterparty before a recovery ride the next morning.
