Vila do Conde Peneda Gerês Extreme

Vila do Conde Peneda Gerês Extreme is a three-day mountain bike adventure race from Cabreira Solutions, the Portuguese organiser that also runs Gravel Montijo and the UCI Alentejo Gravel. Guided by GPS, it links Vila do Conde with the mountains of the Peneda-Gerês National Park and the landscapes around Paredes de Coura.

The organiser pitches it as physically, technically and mentally demanding, with stages through mountains, valleys and traditional villages of northern Portugal. Riders sleep in sports halls between stages while their bags are carried to each finish, with bike washing, mechanics and shared dinners along the way, so the whole event moves with the riders from day to day.
