About this event

Wisła 1200 follows Poland's great river from its springs below Barania Góra in the Silesian Beskids to its mouth on the Baltic at Gdańsk, a bikepacking journey along the whole length of the Vistula. 2027 is the tenth edition, and the organiser is marking it with a staggered start: riders pick their own start day so that finishers of every pace meet at the finish together.

The route sticks to riverside roads, gravel, paths, banks and flood dykes, keeping busy main roads to an absolute minimum. Along the way come wide oxbow lakes and backwaters full of wild birds, dunes and sandbanks, and towns such as Kraków, Kazimierz Dolny, Sandomierz, Warsaw, Płock and Toruń.

It is run by Polskie Kolarstwo Przygodowe (PoKoP), the Polish adventure cycling outfit behind other long routes such as Pomorska 500 and Wisełka 500, and each entry includes support for the Wolne Rzeki (Free Rivers) cause and a hot meal at the finish.
