About this event

Zara Ultra is a weekend of mountain bike and trail running races based in Ayazmoto Park in Stara Zagora, organised by the city's Zara mountain running and tourism sports club. The 2026 edition was its second, and its courses run through the hills around Ayazmoto, Sarnena Gora and Sredna Gora.

Saturday belongs to the bikes: in 2026 the cross-country marathon doubled as the Bulgarian individual and team XCM championship, run with the Dimitar Madzharov cycling club on new, technical trails. Sunday is for runners, with trail races up to ultra distance, and a duathlon links a mountain bike stage on Saturday with a trail run on Sunday. Children's races in both sports round off the weekend.
